Visit Inverness

If you have never been to Inverness which is a city on Scotland’s northeast coast then you need to. The number of people who visit Inverness each year has grown and now Inverness is the 4th most visited city in the UK.

Inverness is the 12th largest city in Scotland with a population of more than 48,000 people. It is the most northerly city in the UK and has a magical landscape filled with rich history. The name Inverness comes from the Scottish Gaelic “Inbhir Nis”, which means “Mouth of the River Ness”.

In 2000, Inverness became a city. There are lots of things to see and do in Inverness including visiting the Inverness Castle. In 1562, Mary, Queen of Scots was refused entry to Inverness castle by its governor, whose family had had a disagreement with the Queen, not something that would happen today.

Other things to do in Inverness include visiting the Inverness Botanic Gardens, Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, Inverness Victorian Market, and Urquhart Castle, to name a few. There are lots of things to in Inverness, which is the main reason why so many tourists return year after year.

There are not many better places to living in the UK than Inverness. It has been voted as one of Scotland’s happiest and best places to live.
