Could Grimsby and Cleethorpes Have Its First Reform MP

Grimsby and Cleethorpes Could Vote Reform

Conservative MP Lia Nici and Former Labour MP Melanie Onn Could Lose Out To Reform Candidate Oliver Freeston

This week saw Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer visit Grimsby for their Sky News Debate which was held at Grimsby Town Hall. Both party leaders were hoping not only to convince the country to vote for them but also to win the hearts of the people of Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

However, Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer could have wasted their time travelling 200 miles from London to Grimsby. With Keir Starmer looking tired in the debate and not getting the support he expected, and with Keir Starmer being called a robot, they both may have now lost the important Grimsby seat.

The Reform Candidate for Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes could shock Labour candidate Melanie Onn and Conservative MP Lia Nici by winning and snatching the important seat away from them.

Oliver Freeston who was once the youngest councillor in the UK defected from the Conservative Party to join the Reform party. He said he was concerned by the way the country is “losing its national identity”, and it seems many in Grimsby feel the same way.

Former Labour MP Melanie Onn lost her seat in a shock defeat to the Conservative Party thanks to Boris Johnson. But now Melanie hopes to reverse the shock defeat and become the MP of Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

Melanie Onn could be wasting her time after many of those living in Grimsby were shocked that she was selected again after disappointing many of those who voted for her. But she may not be the only one wasting their time. Conservative MP Lia Nici has failed to get the people of Grimsby onside with many asking what has she done for the area. Many believe she has been more interested in her political career ladder than fighting for the people of Grimsby.

With a failed Brexit and failed promises, the Reform Party has gained a huge amount of support in Grimsby and Cleethorpes. Many people we have spoken to on the streets of Grimsby and Cleethorpes have said they could be voting for the Reform Party. With a huge amount of support, it could result in Oliver Freeston being the new MP for Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

It is not just locally that the Reform Party has been gaining support. According to a YOUGOV Poll Reform UK has overtaken the Conservative Party for the first time. Although there is no chance of the Reform Party winning the General Election, it does mean their popularity could result in a bigger loss for Rishi Sunak as previously predicted.
