McDonald’s Drive-Thru Is To Open At Lincolnshire Showground This Year
Jobs to be created with the new McDonalds at Lincoln Showground this year
On the back of news in Skegness where the old Pizza Hut has been turned into A McDonald’s, Lincoln Showground will also be welcoming a drive-thru McDonald’s which will be built this year.
The drive-thru McDonalds will form part of a petrol station at the Showground off the A15 just before the Tillbridge Lane roundabout.
The plans were given the go-ahead by West Lindsey District Council at the end of 2022. Although no official date has been given when the Showground McDonalds will open, it is believed it will be completed by the end of the year.
Lincoln Show Ground McDonalds Will Create Jobs
A spokesperson for McDonald’s said: “We are excited to be opening a new restaurant in Lincolnshire at the end of this year, bringing significant investment to the local area.” The CEO of the Lincolnshire Showground, Charlotte Powell, says the new site will “draw a wider audience to the area”.
She said: “Following the sale of a small area of land to a local developer, the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society is aware of the upcoming development of a McDonald’s drive-thru, as part of the petrol station next to the Lincolnshire Showground. The McDonald’s drive-thru will provide a convenient dining option and draw a wider audience to the area.
“This development will bring convenience, economic growth and job opportunities to our community. We look forward to it being opened later this year.”
McDonalds which has approximately 41.8 thousand restaurants globally, said at the end of 2023 that they plan to open another 10,000 around the world by 2027. There are already more than 1,300 McDonald’s restaurants in the UK with plans to build more.
It has not been highlighted how many people will be employed part and full-time in the Lincoln Showground McDonalds, but currently In the UK they have created more than 120,000 jobs.
The new McDonalds in Skegness which took over the Pizza Hut outlet is already created 80 full and part-time jobs. It is hoped the new Lincoln Showground McDonalds will employ more people.
