Media Exec Omar Parker & Company Host San Antonio Wedding Bash

Omar Parker, media executive and independent film producer had a bash San Antonio will not soon forget in May.

Parker began producing in 2015 at the young age of seventeen. Fast forward seven years later and he has co-founded a production company, produced nearly 40 titles that have been official selections of festivals like Cannes, Sundance, and Tribeca and can be seen on platforms like Amazon Prime and Tubi. He also has won a Silver Play Button award from YouTube for his side project Captain’s Log that he created as a bored quarantine project, and is currently a media executive for allrites.com. More recently though, in an accomplishment he says he is most proud of, he has just gotten married.

Omar Parker and Bridgett Zahniser have been dating for nearly five years now but Parker says it still feels like they started dating yesterday. They met in a television production class at Montana State University led by Eric Hyppa, now head of NETA. Parker was the teacher’s assistant and Zahniser was a year younger, taking the class for the first time. They began dating and haven’t looked back.

At the end of May they hosted their wedding on the iconic San Antonio riverwalk despite being Dallas natives. Parker said they hosted the wedding at this location due to the walkability of it. “We have a lot of friends that live in cities and don’t have cars or were flying in with an intention of heavy drinking. We just wanted everyone to be safe as they had a good time,” Parker said. The event took up an entire side of the riverwalk and was viewable to the public.

The reception took place at Tower of the Americas and lasted nearly four hours. Parker said “ We rented out basically the entire restaurant up there. It was a great time, I think it will be a night I will never forget.” In some ways this has to be true. The event and reception were filled with film executives and actors. In some ways not. According to Chart House located at the top of the Tower of the Americas, the party cleaned out the liquor cabinet, going through over 120 bottles. One waitress said, “We were having to take elevator trips down and back up just to go find more bottles of wine in storage.”

Shortly after the couple was up and moving to the airport. Their honeymoon took place in the scenic St. Thomas at the Bolongo Bay resort. The new Mrs. Parker had nothing but great things to say about the island. “It was incredible. The beaches are lovely, the water is clear, the locals are all so welcoming and friendly, and of course open bars are always a win.”

I’m sure that this will not be the last lavish vacation for this new couple. And regardless of how much of the event they remember, this author is sure they will have a long and happy marriage together and wishes them all the best.
