Lincolnshire COVID Deaths Increase This Week

  • The number of COVID deaths in Lincolnshire have increased but COVID cases have dropped

 

COVID deaths in Lincolnshire have increased by 50% this week. However, even though the number of deaths has increased, new COVID cases in Greater Lincolnshire continue to drop.

According to official figures, the number of new COVID cases in Greater Lincolnshire which include Spalding, Skegness, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, and Boston have dropped by 7%. The past week there were 3,119 new COVID cases compared to 3,360 the previous week.

Government figures have revealed that 18 people in Greater Lincolnshire died of COVID this week compared with 12 last week. Hospitals in Greater Lincolnshire have also reported that 12 people have died of COVID compared to nine last week.

On more positive news, more than 100,000 people have received booster jabs while two new vaccination centres have opened in the Spalding area.

 

The latest COVID stats for Lincolnshire are:

 

578 new cases of coronavirus in Greater Lincolnshire. 380 of those cases were in Lincolnshire, 101 in North East Lincolnshire and 97 in North Lincolnshire
