Man Accused of Skegness Rape Appears In Court

A man living at County Hotel, North Parade, Skegness has appeared in Court charged with rape.

A 33-year-old man who was charged with rape in Skegness, Lincolnshire yesterday (Monday 12 June 2023) appeared before Lincoln Magistrates.

Saad Gomaa, was charged with rape which happened in the Tower Gardens area of Skegness just after 10.40 pm on Friday 9 June. While appearing in court wearing a grey top and grey jogging bottoms, he gave his name but did not confirm his address or date of birth due to not being able to speak English.

His address was given on court listings as County Hotel, North Parade, Skegness.

Lincoln Magistrates remanded Saad Gomaa back into custody for a further when an Arabic interpreter can be present.

Lincolnshire Police who are appealing for witnesses to come forward would like to speak to anyone in the Tower Gardens area between 10pm and 11pm on Friday, 9 June.

Since the news of the arrest, local businesses are calling on Skegness MP Matt Warman and the local council to do more to stop more asylum seekers being housed in Skegness.

Skegness MP Matt Warman who has been accused of not doing enough to save the reputation of Skegness has turned to Facebook to ask people not to speculate over the man who was charged with rape.
