With COVID cases rising among young people, parents are being advised to take advantage of the walk-in COVID centres being offered in Lincolnshire.

Walk-in COVID vaccinations are available all week at Lincolnshire Showground and PRSA Mass Vaccination Centre in Boston

The pop-up COVID vaccine sessions are available for 12-15-year-olds during the half-term week. The sessions are available from 2pm to 7pm for the rest of the week and 10am until 4pm this weekend.

It is hoped that parents will take advantage of the walk-in sessions, so more children are vaccinated.

Rebecca Neno, Director of Covid and Influenza Vaccination Programmes, NHS Lincolnshire CCG, said the walk-in sessions give children the perfect opportunity to get protection against COVID.

She said: “We want to offer children aged 12-15 who’ve missed their Covid vaccination in schools for whatever reason, or who are yet to have the vaccination in school, the opportunity to visit our Mass Vaccination Centres at PRSA, Boston, or the Lincolnshire Showground, so they have every opportunity to get vaccinated.”

According to Government figures 25.4% of eligible 12 to 15-year-olds have received their coronavirus vaccinations.

In North East Lincolnshire, 22.5% of 12 to 15-year-olds have been vaccinated, and in North Lincolnshire, 19.1% have had their vaccination.

With the rising cases of COVID in Lincolnshire, with a high number of new cases being with school children, it is now more important than ever for children to get vaccinated.
