East Lindsey District Council has said that Fairy Dell paddling pool will reopen this coming Saturday after it was forced to close due to a fire.

The outdoor paddling pool which has become a firm favourite with locals and tourists was first opened in 1929. However, it was forced to close on Sunday, August 7after following a fire inside a power sub-station.

The Skegness Fairy Dell paddling pool was forced to stay close after there was no power to operate the water system and the attraction’s fountains.

A spokesman for East Lindsey District Council said a generator was in place and it hoped to reopen the pool on Saturday.

This is great news for the local area and tourists who come far and wide to enjoy the paddling pool.

As of yet the council have not released any details of the cause of the fire but it is believed that an investigation is continuing to take place.
