Met Office Says Skegness and Lincoln to be hotter than Portugal

  • Skegness and Lincoln weather forecast could make people feel like they are abroad

According to the Met Office, people living in and visiting Skegness and Lincoln are in for a treat with forecasts that the two areas will be hotter than Portugal. However, there is a downside with reports there could be some lightning storms.

This week will see temperatures above 20C in Skegness, Lincoln and along the coast of Lincolnshire. It is already warm today Monday 16th May, but the temperatures will rise during the week with Tuesday temperature being above 20C.

The great weather for this week is great news for businesses in Skegness who have reported a huge drop in takings.

A lot of small businesses in the Skegness area who rely on tourism have said this year has been a huge disappointed. They had hoped after a few years struggling with COVID, that this year was going to be the year that would help balance the books. However, many small business owners have said some days in May have felt like it was January with how quiet the resort has been.

According to the Met Office, this week is going to be a great sunny week.

 

May16 Weather Forecast

Warm sunny spells developing by the afternoon, but with some scattered and locally thundery showers in places. Light winds – Maximum temperature 23 °C

May 17

Dry with lengthy sunny spells and light winds. Very warm, especially inland.

Feeling fresher along eastern coasts though with a gentle onshore breeze. Cloudier in the far west by evening – Maximum temperature 25 °C.

May 18-20

Fine, bright and warm on Wednesday. Heavy, occasionally thundery showers overnight, then largely sunny and rather warm Thursday.

A bright start to Friday. Cloudier later with a risk of rain.
