  • Lincolnshire Police have arrested a 58-year-old man after a Skegness street was forced to be evacuated after a device was found

 

Lincolnshire Police have today confirmed they have arrested a 58-year-old man after Scarborough Avenue, Skegness was evacuated after a device was found.

Residents were told to leave their properties after emergency services including the police, Lincs Fire and Rescue, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the scene.

While the device was made safe, a 200m cordon was put in place. After the device was made safe, residents were allowed back to their properties while police carried out their investigations.

The 58-year-old-man was arrested on suspicion of attempted arson with intent to endanger life.

Detective Sergeant Gemma Skipworth said they were continuing with their investigation into the event that took place and would like the public to come forward with any information that could help with their enquiries.
