Cash And Jewellery Stolen Have Been Stolen In Spate Of Burglaries In Lincolnshire Villages

Lincolnshire Police are warning people to be vigilant and to take extra care after a spate of robberies have taken place in three villages in Lincolnshire.

 

Police have reported that three Lincolnshire villages have been hit with a spate of burglaries where cash and jewellery have been stolen.

The burglaries have taken place in in Carlton le Moorland which is between Newark-on-Trent and Lincoln, and in Metheringham, Dunston and Bassingham

Six burglaries have been reported in the North Kesteven district and three incidents reported in Carlton le Moorland, followed by three in Metheringham, Dunston and Bassingham, between Friday, November 17, and Monday, November 20

According to Lincolnshire Police, the burglars made entry to the homes by smashing or forcing windows or backdoors.

A spokesperson for the force said residents should remain vigilant over the festive period. They said: “We are reminding people of the potential pitfalls of advertising goods for sale on social media especially expensive items such as jewellery or watches. Even without your address included, criminals may be able to piece together information about where you live.”

Lincolnshire Police have said it is important to make sure that garages and sheds are secure and to make sure that windows are locked from the inside.

Security experts and Lincolnshire Police are advising people to be extra cautious over the festive season and to put security measures in place which includes alarms and CCTV cameras.
