Humberside Police Arrest A Man With An Axe Who Was Seen Arguing In A Street In Barton-Upon-Humber

Police were called to an incident in Barton-Upon-Humber of a man waving around an axe while arguing with another man

 

Police have arrested a 60-year-old man on 26th October after they were called regarding a man waving around an axe while arguing with another man in a street in Barton-Upon-Humber

The alleged incident happened in Finkle Lane, Burton-Upon-Humber at around 4.35pm. Humberside Police arrested the 60-year-old man on suspicion of affray.

A spokesman for Humberside Police confirmed the man was taken in custody while inquiries continue.

“A man is in our custody after officers were called to reports of an altercation on Finkle Lane in Barton. We were called at approximately 4.35pm to reports that two men were arguing in the street and one of them is believed to have been in possession of an axe.

“Officers were deployed to the area and a 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray at the scene. He remains in our custody whilst officers continue to conduct lines of enquiry to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“We would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquires to contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 330 of October 25.”
