Skegness is one of the cheapest holiday resorts in the UK

A new list of the cheapest holiday resorts has been compiled with Skegness being named in the top seven with Blackpool being named as number one.

 

Skegness has been named as one of the cheapest seaside resorts for a holiday according to a new survey.

CheapRooms.co.uk looked at all the seaside resorts in the UK and looked at the cost of staying in each resort. They based their survey on the cost of a double room in a hotel or a guest house during August which were within walking distance from the beach. The accommodation had to be 3 stars or above to be considered for the survey.

Out of the 30 seaside resorts in the survey Sidmouth was the most expensive. However, Skegness was one of the cheapest. Skegness came in at number seven as one of the cheapest seaside resorts for a holiday while Blackpool came in at first place.

The average cost to stay in a 3-star hotel or guest house in Skegness was £75 per night, while Sidmouth was £154, and Blackpool was £48. Cleethorpes which is another popular seaside resort in Lincolnshire did not make the list.
