Grimsby Woman Taken To Hospital After Being Robbed

Grimsby woman was seriously injured’ after being robbed by gang near Asda

The woman was robbed and assaulted on Sunday, October 29th while walking near Asda, in Holles Street

 

A Grimsby woman who fled a gang before being assaulted on Willingham Street on October 29th has been taken to hospital.

Humberside Police were called to reports of an assault after a gang brutally assaulted a woman at around midnight on Sunday, October 29.

The woman who was walking near Asda, in Holles Street, Grimsby was approached by three men and a woman who stole her Samsung mobile phone and jewellery in what has been described as a violent street robbery.

According to reports, the woman ran towards Mallard Mews via Willingham Street but was followed by a large white van. A man got out of the van and seriously assaulted her.

Her injuries have been described as serious but not life changing.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses following reports of an assault and robbery which happened in Grimsby in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday 29 October).

“At around 12am, a woman was walking near Asda, Holles Street in Grimsby when it is reported that three men and a woman approached her before stealing a gold necklace, a Samsung mobile phone, a gold bracelet and two rings from her.

“The victim is believed to have run towards Mallard Mews in Grimsby via Willingham Street where one of the men is reported to have exited a large, white vehicle and followed her. It is reported that the man then seriously assaulted the woman.

“The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries which are not thought to be life changing.”

Humberside Police are asking for people to come forward if they have any information regarding the robbery and assault. Anyone with any information should call the non-emergency number 101 quoting log 441 of 29 October.”
