The walk starts in Great Malvern, where you can explore the magnificent Malvern Hills that divide the stunning countryside of Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

Each year hundreds of thousands of visitors, cycle, run, ride, and dog walk the Malvern Hills Walk. It has become one of Worcestershire’s top tourist attractions. When ITV did a poll to find Britain’s Favourite Walk, The Malvern Hills Walk was voted 37th. With the walk providing some of the most stunning views of the UK, it’s not surprising that it ranked so high in the poll.

The starting point of the Malvern Hills walks in the car park at North Malvern in the 19th-century spa town of Great Malvern. From the starting point, you will pass End Hill, Table Hill, and Sugarloaf Hill before reaching Worcestershire Beacon.

The Worcestershire Beacon which provides amazing views is the highest point in the Malvern’s at 425 m (1,394 ft). Make sure you take your camera to capture the views of Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds, the Welsh Mountains, and the Severn Valley. That is why walking in the Malvern Hills is such an amazing experience. It does not matter how many times you take this route; you will always see something new for the first time.

After having a well-earned rest, you can continue on the Malvern Hill Walk to Jubilee Hill, Black Hill, and Herefordshire Beacon where you will find the British Camp Iron Age Hill fort and the reservoir. The British camp was built in the 2nd century BC.

The Malvern Hills walk route then continues to Hangman’s Hill, and Swinyard Hill, and then Midsummer Hill where there is an Iron Age Hill Fort that spans Midsummer Hill and Hollybush Hill. The final section of the walk takes you over Raggedstone Hill to the finishing point End Hill.

The Malvern Hills Walk can be done any time of the year thanks to the route being well surfaced. Unlike a lot of walking routes in the UK, this route can be achieved by most people no matter what their ability is.

The Malvern Hills Walk is around 9 miles or so and will take around five hours depending on your speed. If you decide to stop off on the way and have a picnic, then it will take a little longer.
