Boston Man Has Been charged after woman killed in A16 crash

A man faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving after a crash that resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to five others.

Nine months following the fatal crash on a major road in Lincolnshire, a man his set to appear in court. The incident occurred when police responded to a collision between two vehicles on the A16 between Kirton and the Sutterton Roundabout, near Boston, on March 4.

Asen Kurtev, 46, residing on Carlton Road, Boston, has also been charged with four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. These charges stem from a collision involving two cars that occurred shortly before 07:00 GMT.

The crash was initially reported at 6:50 a.m., leading to an all-day road closure. By approximately 2:30 p.m., Lincolnshire Police announced the death of a 39-year-old woman and injuries to five others involved in the incident.

The collision involved a blue Volkswagen Scirocco heading towards Boston and a blue Vauxhall Zafira driving towards Spalding. On March 26, authorities arrested Asen Kurtev.

On December 18, officers revealed that Asen Kurtev, from Carlton Road, Boston, faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving. The 46-year-old is also charged with four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Kurtev is scheduled to appear at Boston Magistrates’ Court on January 22, 2025.
