Hands Off Our RNLI Lifeboats Keir Starmer
You are not going to believe this, I thought it was a joke, but this is serious. When I read it, the first thing I thought was lives are being put at risk because the Government think lifeboats are a taxi service.
If you don’t know what I am talking about well let me tell you. Last month a yacht and another small boat sent out a distress call to the Coast Guard for help. There were in serious trouble and needed help like now. The people on the boats thought they don’t need to worry because the lifeboats will come out and rescue them and bring them back to safety. That’s what you think what when you are in trouble and contact the coastguard. That’s why we donate all the time to the lifeboat service.
But no. They were told there was no help available as a certain rescue service was too busy. And why were they too busy. Because they were escorting the people we are not allowed to mention across the water from France to the UK, because the government think our rescue services are a taxi service.
That’s right, at the time these two boats needed help the rescue services were asked to escort the boats from France to the UK. A spokesman for the rescue service said they were satisfied the two boats would make it back to shore and didn’t need help. What the hell.
Thank God the two boats did make it back to sure, but now it has left people saying on social media that they will no longer donate to the rescue services, and you know what, I don’t blame them. Let me know what you think guys.
