More than 18 million people visit Blackpool each year, with a large portion of those visitors staying in one of the 862 Bed and Breakfast accommodations in Blackpool. So, we decided to look at not only the best hotels in Blackpool but the best seafront hotels in Blackpool.
With Blackpool beach hotels offering great views, they are quickly booked up. So, if you do want a Blackpool seafront hotel for you and the family, or a romantic break, it is important that you book in advance. I would recommend booking at least six weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.
One of the oldest hotels in Blackpool is the Grand Metropole Hotel which opened in 1785. It was not always known as the Grand Metropole Hotel. When it first opened its doors, it was called Bailey’s Hotel after Lawrence Bailey, a farmer from the Layton area of Blackpool.
The Blackpool Grand Metropole Hotel, which is now owned by Britannia Hotels, started with just 34 bedrooms, three dining rooms, and a small coffee lounge. Now, it boasts 223 rooms and has live Cabaret shows every evening for its guests.
Things have changed since the Grand Metropole Hotel was built. Now, there are lots of hotels in Blackpool with pools and spas which would have been unheard of back in 1785. As well as pools and spas, a lot of the Blackpool hotels hold entertainment, which is something I love.
Hotels in Blackpool seafront not only provide you with great views over the Irish Sea and allow you to people watch, but they also offer you a great location for the great things to do in Blackpool. Some of the seafront hotels offer you walking distance to The Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower.
So, what are the best seafront hotels in Blackpool, and are there any Blackpool hotels with pools on the seafront? I have looked at all the seafront hotels in Blackpool to see which are the best, here are my choices:
The Best Seafront Hotels in Blackpool
Imperial Hotel Blackpool
The four-star Imperial Hotel is one of the best-loved seafront hotels in Blackpool. It dominates the North Promenade and was established in 1867. It was one of the first hotels the Victorians built in Blackpool.
The hotel has 180 modern bedrooms, with nine of those being suites with sea views. For those looking at Blackpool hotels with pools then you are in for a treat. The Imperial Hotel which has over the years welcomed a host of royalty, politicians, statesmen, and stars has a gym, swimming pool, and spa facilities. There are a lot of facilities for all ages.
When it comes to breakfast, the Imperial Hotel has it covered. They can provide continental, Irish, vegan, halal, and gluten-free buffet breakfast.
Grand Hotel Blackpool
The Grand Hotel which is owned by Britannia Hotels is another hotel in Blackpool with pool. It is a four-star hotel that is located on the seafront one mile away from Blackpool Tower and 2.5 miles from The Pleasure Beach.
What I love about the Grand Hotel besides its location is what you get for the price. Each room comes with a 32-inch flat-screen TV, and most of the rooms come with a sea view.
The Blackpool seafront hotel has a modern gym and an indoor pool. So, if you don’t fancy dipping your toes in the Irish Sea you can have a nice swim in the heated pool. When you have finished your swim, you can then enjoy the sauna and steam room, or treat yourself to a massage.
The restaurant at the Grand Hotel features a modern grill menu and you can also have a traditional carvery. For the quality you get, you would expect to be paying a lot more, but they really do offer value for money.
Tiffany’s Hotel, Blackpool
Another great Blackpool seafront hotel is Tiffany’s Hotel. The North promenade hotel really lights up the seafront during the night.
With its value for money, this is another seafront hotel in Blackpool that you will need to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
The hotel not only provides great accommodation, where it has stylish rooms, it also offers some of the best entertainment you will see on the seafront.
The facilities at Tiffany’s Hotel include:
Bar / lounge, games room, Banquet room, conference facilities, and free internet.
Lyndene Hotel, Blackpool
It is no wonder why many people think the Lyndene Hotel is the best seafront hotel in Blackpool when you look at the big named acts that entertain the guests. Over the years the likes of Jimmy Cricket have been featured on the bill and continues to do so. As well as big named acts, the Hotel also has some of the best Blackpool tribute acts giving the guests hours of fun.
The hotel offers value for money rooms which include double rooms, twin rooms, and triple rooms. Unlike a lot of the hotels in Blackpool, this hotel offers free on-site parking.
If you are fan of Peter Kay, then you will love this hotel. It was featured in Peter Kay’s TV hit comedy Phoenix Nights.
The Doric Hotel, Blackpool
If you are looking for Seafront Hotels in Blackpool for a romantic stay or a family holiday, then the Doric Hotel is a good choice.
The sea view hotel in Blackpool is situated on the prestigious Queens Promenade with breathtaking views over the Irish Sea. As well as offering stunning views, it also offers a lot of facilities making it an all-round hotel for holidaymakers, businesses, and those looking to get married.
The Doric Hotel has 103 en-suite rooms. It is another Blackpool Hotel with pool facilities. If you love entertainment, then you will love this hotel. It offers great tribute acts to keep you entertained all night and offers great food.
