Lincolnshire Police Officer Accused Of Sexual Touching

  • A suspended Lincolnshire Police Office appeared in court accused of sexual touching. He did not enter a plea due to the barrister strikes taking place

A Lincolnshire Police Officer currently suspended from duty appeared in court on Monday accused of sexual touching. Due to the barrister strike taking place, the 25-year old suspended police officer was unable to enter a plea at Lincoln Crown Court.

Liam David Shield, who was based in Stamford was charged with two counts of sexual touching. The offences allegedly took place between February and May 2019, and on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

Judge John Pini QC told Shields any trial regarding the allegations could not take place at Lincoln Crown Court due to him still being a serving Lincolnshire Police Officer.

The trial which will be heard at another Crown Court in East Midlands will last for around three days.

Liam Shield who lives in the Grantham area was granted conditional bail. He will next appear at Lincoln Crown Court on August 26th.

Assistant Chief Constable Kerrin Wilson said the force took “such allegations very seriously as we know they can affect the confidence of our communities”.

“I would like to offer reassurance that we will always investigate reports like these without fear or favour,” she added.
