Scarlett Moffatt Takes Her Sister To New York

Celebrity Jungle and Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt has ignored the school term holiday ban and taken her eleven-year-old sister on holiday.

Scarlett Moffatt has come under fire for taking her sister out of secondary school and taking her on a holiday of a lifetime to New York. School chiefs around the country have slammed the reality star for taking her sister on holiday just a few days after the new term started. They are also not happy that Scarlett is posting pictures on social media of their holiday and disrespecting the school holiday ban.

One of the pictures had a caption which said: “Moffatt sisters on tour.”

Although teachers and educational chiefs have slammed Scarlett Moffatt for taking her sister out of school, her manager John Noel said the Jungle Queen’s mum had obtained permission from the school.

Even though the reality star received permission from her parents Betty and Mark, from Bishop Auckland, County Durham, and the school, Scarlett has received backlash on social media.

Some people have called Scarlett irresponsible for taking her sister out of school during the term time. One person posted on social media to say each day a child misses school their education is affected. Another person posted asking why she could not have taken her sister to New York when she was off school during the summer holidays.

The school term holiday ban has become a very unpopular law which has forced millions of children to miss out on a family holiday. During the school holidays travel companies increase their prices making a family holiday much more expensive than when children are at school.

Scarlett Moffatt is not the only person to annoy teachers by taking her sister out of school,

Parents who ignore the holiday ban and do not get permission from their school can face a fine of up to £120.
