The Dominican Republic has become a huge favourite with UK holidaymakers, and one hotel that portrays itself as one of the best for holidaymakers to relax is the Club Med Punta Cana but is it that good. Our Club Med Punta Cana review finds out the truth about the hotel to see if it really is worth visiting or is it a hotel that is best avoiding.
Is Club Med Punta Cana Good For Families?
According to the hotel owners, seventy per cent of those that visit the hotel for a holiday are families with the rest being couples. A lot of family oriented hotels are noisy; let’s be honest. That is down to kids not having much to do and spending all their time around the pool screaming and shouting. However, like many good hotels, this one offers lots of children’s entertainment with a good kids club called the Mini Club Med.
The children’s club which caters for different age groups is run by a qualified team allowing children to have lots of fun while the adults can relax by the pool or at the bar. Some of the big complaints parents have with hotel children’s clubs are the lack of entertainment and not catering for all age groups. The Mini Club Med solves that problem by providing entertainment that will keep children entertained all day long.
The Club Med Punta children’s club offers a friendly environment for babies up to 23 months. You will see the GO qualified team walking around the hotel with prams, allowing them to enjoy the fresh air and the different beautiful scenery. Those with toddlers will attend the Petit Club Med, and those with children 4 to 10 will attend the Mini Club Med. For teenagers, they have the Club Med Pasworld where they can enjoy skateboarding, dance classes, sports and so much more, including a chill out at the cinema.
With the brilliant children’s entertainment club and with so much to do it makes the Club Med Punta Cana a perfect hotel for a family holiday.
Club Med Punta Cana Accommodation
One of the biggest problems I find when staying at a hotel is being let down by the accommodation. Some hotels claim they cater for the guests every need, but when it comes down to it, they don’t. I have stayed in hotels where the bed felt like you were sleeping on the floor, and the furniture looked like it had been there since the hotel or resort had been built, but Club Med Punta Cana was different. The hotel management and the designers of the resort have made sure that they offer everything a guest could want from a hotel room.
The Club Med Punta Cana accommodation offers flats and villas which have been painted in typical magical Caribbean colours of orange, yellow and other bright colours that reflect the glorious weather. As in most accommodation, the floors are tiled, which is so easy to clean. There are different options to choose from for accommodation including Club rooms, which provide Air-conditioning, Security safe(s), Shower, Telephone. Television(s) and U.S. electrical sockets / 110 Volts.
Another option is the The Deluxe Room, which comprises of a room for the parents, separated from the children’s bedroom by a curtain, and a balcony and garden view.

Food and Drink at The Club Med Punta Cana
I have been to many hotels around the world where the accommodation was excellent, and the entertainment was great, but the food was terrible. As a lover of food, it really does annoy me when the hotel shows no interest in food, leaving hotel guests to either starve or visit local establishments to get fed properly. The Club Med Punta Cana food is truly excellent and offers hotel guests with a wide choice of lovely food; even the children are spoilt for choice. In total there are three restaurants to choose from, each one offering a lovely experience.
Bars At The Club Med Punta Cana
There are four bars to choose from at the Club Med Punta Cana; they include the Cielo, The Indigo Beach Lounge Bar, Hibiscus Bar & Lounge, and La Cave. Each bar provides a friendly and welcoming environment offering a wide range of drinks.
The Club Med Punta Cana does shout a lot about how great they are, and as our review of Club Med Punta Cana has found, they have every right to rave about the luxury they offer.
