First Night Virginia Announces America’s Got Talent Taylor Mathews Is To Perform At The 2016 New Year’s Eve Celebration


The 34th Annual Celebration is set to be the biggest and the best yet with over 70 entertainment options available for all ages. They include magic, comedy, jugglers, puppets, spirit walks, music, and more. One of the many artists who has been confirmed as performing at the event is Taylor Mathews.

Organizers of First Night Virginia are pleased to announce Taylor Mathews, the popular 24-year-old singer/songwriter will be performing at the 34th Annual Celebration, which takes place on the 31st December.

Taylor Mathews, who released his first EP, Head Over Feeling in 2011 and since then has become an exciting artist who has worked with Grammy-winning producers and songwriters, will be performing at the Paramount Theatre. The American Got Talent finalist will be performing at 5:30 and 8:45 pm on the 31st December as part of the First Night Virginia celebration.

The American Got Talent finalist is not the only attraction to be performing at the Paramount Theatre. Besides Taylor Mathews, the World Champion Juggler, Scotty Cavanaugh ( will also be performing. The action comedian who has appeared on numerous television programs including ABC, CBS, FOX and ESPN, will be showcasing his talents and humor at 4:15 – 7:30 – 10:00 pm.

The biggest night of the year will take place on and around the Charlottesville Downtown Mall where there will be over 70 entertainment options available for people of all ages. Early booking prices are as follows: For adults it is $16; children 6-15 priced at $6 while kids 5 and under are admitted for free. A family pack of 2 adults and 2 children is discounted to $38. A spokesman for First Night Virginia said prices will go up on December 30.

Some of the exciting new performances this year are the Sally Rose Band, Two of a Kind, Ron Fetner, Tony & Jeff, Virginia Rambler, Jessica Weaver and Silver Linings, and DMR Adventure All-Stars & Dream Team.
