This Morning snubbed at TV Choice

ITV This Morning, the once popular daytime TV show, has recently faced a series of challenges that have put the show a state of crisis. Its latest setback is being overlooked at the TV Choice Awards.

This Morning was once the most popular daytime show on TV, but since the Phillip Schofield scandal and the continued changes in the presenting line up, it has now become an embarrassment for ITV.

Some TV experts have called for ITV to scrap This Morning and it seems with the latest snub at the TV Choice Awards could signal the end of the ITV show.

From the departure of longtime host Holly Willoughby, to the show’s failure to secure any wins at the prestigious TV Choice Awards, the future of This Morning seems uncertain.

In October 2023, This Morning bid farewell to one of its most beloved hosts, Holly Willoughby. After years of charming audiences with her wit, warmth, and undeniable chemistry with co-host Phillip Schofield, Holly decided to step down from her role.

Her departure came as a shock to fans, who had come to associate her with the show’s success.

Adding another nail in the coffin to the future of the show, This Morning faced disappointment at the TV Choice Awards.

The show was nominated for the prestigious Best Daytime Show award but lost out to BBC TV’s Animal Park.

This snub raises questions about the show’s continued popularity and its ability to attract and engage viewers.

The TV Choice Awards are highly regarded in the industry, and winning an award can boost a show’s reputation and viewership.

This Morning’s failure to secure any wins at the awards is undoubtedly a blow to its prestige and may indicate a decline in its appeal.

Following Holly Willoughby’s departure, This Morning introduced new hosts in an attempt to fill the void.

Personalities like Cat Deeley, Ben Shephard, and Sian Welby joined the show, hoping to bring their unique charm and talent to the screen.

However, the recent snub at the TV Choice Awards raises questions about the effectiveness of these new hosts in maintaining the show’s popularity.

While the new hosts having their own talents and appeal, they have yet to establish the same level of connection with audiences as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield did.

The show’s producers face the challenge of finding the right balance between maintaining the show’s traditions and introducing new elements to keep it fresh and engaging.

While This Morning may have missed out on the Best Daytime Show award, other shows celebrated their victories at the TV Choice Awards.

Emmerdale emerged as the winner in the Best Soap category, while Jeff Hordley, known for his role as Cain Dingle in Emmerdale, won the Best Soap Actor award.

Happy Valley took home the Best Drama Series award, with Sarah Lancashire winning Best Actress for her role in the show. Other winners included Mrs. Brown’s Boys, Call The Midwife, and Beyond Paradise.

Earlier this month it was revealed Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard will be announced as the new presenters of This Morning. However, although This Morning viewers believe Ben Shephard is a great choice, Cat Deeley was not a popular choice with the viewers.
