Thomson To Offer Kos Holiday Refunds

Thomson Offer Kos Holidaymakers A Refund Or Change Of Holiday

After a 51-year old man from Newton Abbot had reported that Thomson refused to offer him a refund for a holiday he had booked for Kos; the leading travel agent has now backtracked.

Hundreds of holidaymakers have contacted Thomson expressing their fears of travelling to the island Kos after the 6.5-magnitude earthquake and wanted a refund. However, according to Thomson customers who wanted to cancel their holiday were told they could not get a refund. Now it seems the High-Street travel agent has changed its mind.

Thomson has now released a statement saying that tourists who are too scared to take a holiday in the island of Kos after the earthquake can get their money back.

A spokesperson for Thomson said: ‘We can confirm that all flights to Kos will be operating as normal with the next flights scheduled to depart from the UK tomorrow.

‘Customers due to travel to Kos up to and including 23rd July can cancel their holiday without cancellation charge and will receive a full refund, or they can amend their booking to an alternative destination free of amendment fee.’

Thomson has said those customers who want to change their holiday and choose a cheaper package will be refunded the difference.

Since the news was announced, many of those who are booked to go on holiday to Kos has said it is the right decision, but Thomson should have made it much sooner.

A customer from Manchester who was told she would not get a refund before the announcement has said Thomson need to get their house in order and start thinking about customer service instead of being greedy. Another customer from Sheffield said Thomson should have acted a lot quicker instead of causing stress to those who thought they would lose their money if they cancelled.
