We hosted him for an interview to talk about his productions all over the world.
Hello Ariel, in which country are you going to shoot soon?
“I have my film I produced in Japan, the feature film in LA and Bogotá that I’m working in the production team of this film, a short film in Miami and in Israel “
Wow , 3 continents in a short time , how does that make sense?
“I’m managing everything from Israel remotely this time because or I have a lot of work in Israel, but it’s still working “
Apart from films in the US and Canada you produced films in Africa, Central America, and Asia, not-so-simple cultures tell us about working with people from all over the world? Where is it easier? What difficulties?
“It’s different. It’s hard to believe. In Japan the difficulty was the language. For example, I want to order equipment they don’t know in English, you want to look for a location, everything in Japanese. I was lucky to have a great crew. Japanese culture is very different- they are polite and hard workers. In Mexico it was the same thing- the Spanish problem but in this case I had a great crew as well and hard workers. In Nigeria the problem was technical , for example- power outages while editing lots of times but they are so professional. ״
Where is the easiest to work and where is the hardest?
“The easiest of course is the US and Canada. The hardest – Japan and Nigeria, but I have to say I didn’t have many difficulties, the key of the success is to adapt yourself to the culture you work with”
Your 3 films are going to be screened at the same festival with each one from a different country, with whom do you feel most identified?
“my films I produced and wrote in Mexico, Nigeria and Canada will be screened at Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival on September, I don’t feel any special feeling to specific country, it’s business”
When do you want to shoot your next film?
“I‘ll update ”
