Super Star Singapore Team Walk Away With Six Medals at the Prestigious Olympia Amateur Asia – SFBF

The SFBF (The Singapore Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness) is celebrating after their team walked away with six medals at the prestigious Olympia Amateur Asia, which was held in Hong Kong.

The team consisted of seven Athletes, but even though they were one of the smallest teams at the event, they firmly put Singapore on the bodybuilding and fitness map. The event saw more than 400 athletes from around Asia, the Middle East and the UK, take part, resulting in the best of the best looking to gain medals.

SFBF which is the only IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness) sanctioned organization in Singapore were very proud with the results and believe it will encourage even more people to enter the sport.

“The three-day event in Hong Kong which ran from the 23rd to the 26th October 2017, saw the best of the best compete. The Singapore Team which was one of the smallest teams in the competition was up against strong competition, but they managed to stun the world of bodybuilding when six of the team made it to the finals where they won medals,” said Alex Michael Betts, SFBF President.

The SFBF which is a non-profit organization is encouraging more people to take up bodybuilding and compete. The organization are heavily promoting the sport and recently saw their Show Of Strength even attracts athletes from around the world.

 

The medallists who won at the prestigious Olympia Amateur Asia were as follows:

 

Gisele Lim – 1st Place – Gold medal & trophy in Bodyfitness over 163cm

Alexandra Peak-Watkinson – 2nd Place – Silver medal & trophy in Bodyfitness over 163cm

Knur Nadia Binte Ahmad Jani – 3rd Place – Bronze medal & trophy in Bikini Fitness up to 158cm

 

Tyen Fong – 4th Place medal in Bikini Fitness up to 162cm

Benjamin Broughton – 5th Place medal in Classic Bodybuilding over 180cm

Sam Enaya – 6th Place medal in Classic Bodybuilding up to 175cm

Gisele Lim who is nearly 40 years old and a full time-teacher of children with special needs said she was thrilled to win her category. The Gold medallist said she plans to look at areas where she can improve so she can carry on winning medals.
