Ryan O’Shaughnessy has caused one of the biggest shocks of the Britain’s Got Talent history, well since Simon Cowell decided to give former Knight Rider actor David Hasselhoff a job on the show. The young singer was told by Simon Cowell that he would have got a place on the semi final show if it was not for the fact that he was contracted to another show, Simon Cowell did not look pleased at being made to look like a fool, not sure why as he does that all by himself, but now it seems, event though Simon Cowell was angry with the young singer, Ryan O’Shaughnessy has got himself a place in the semi-final.
The trouble started when Simon Cowell found out that Ryan O’Shaughnessy was contracted to The Voice of Ireland, Simon Cowell who has high hopes for the singer was not pleased when producers found out that the singer was contracted to the show as well as being contracted to Universal records.
Ryan O’Shaughnessy song ‘No Name’ has been a huge hit on the internet but amazingly he was kicked off The Voice of Ireland on the first night.
‘Ryan O’Shaughnessy Through To Live Britain’s Got Talent Stages – Although Simon Cowell Is Not Happy’
According to a source on Britain’s Got Talent, Simon Cowell feels the young singer has made him like a fool. Simon Cowell is having a very bad year this year with the music boss feeling ITV are not showing him respect and commitment, and then watching the BBC The Voice beat him in the ratings and now to top it all, Ryan O’Shaughnessy has made a mockery of Britain’s Got Talent and at the same time made Simon Cowell look like he does not know what he is doing.
Ryan O’Shaughnessy has managed to get out of his contract with Universal and The Voice of Ireland and although Simon Cowell is not happy over the whole episode, Ryan has been given a lifeline and is through to the live stages of the show.
“I’m over the moon to be through to the semi-finals,” O’Shaughnessy told ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent site. “I was contracted to do another show, but I’ve since been released from my contract.
‘I want to thank the judges for giving me a second chance. The reveal was such an emotional ordeal for me. I was fraught with nerves. I felt as though I’d let Simon down. Simon’s somebody you want to please, so it felt awful to disappoint him.
‘I’m looking forward to the live shows. I’ve been working on new material and focusing on the music.”
