It has been announced that Prince Charles has been tested positive for coronavirus. Clarence House has said the heir to the throne is in self-isolation in Scotland.

Clarence House today released a statement to say that the 71-year old heir to the throne had been diagnosed with the COVID-19 disease.

It is not yet known how the Prince got the virus.

Clarence House said the Prince was doing well and has displayed “mild symptoms” but “otherwise remains in good health”, and has been self-isolating in Scotland with the Duchess of Cornwall – who has tested negative for coronavirus.

“The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing.

Prince William is set to take on more duties as his father stays in isolation.
