Lincolnshire COVID Cases Are Not Slowing Down

  • Lincolnshire COVID cases rise 12% week-on-week

 

Worrying news for Greater Lincolnshire. COVID cases in Lincolnshire continue to rise with no sign of them slowing down.

Great Lincolnshire which includes Spalding, Grantham, Boston, and Louth has become a hot spot for COVID. Cases continue to rise 12% week-on-week, putting more pressure on Lincolnshire hospitals that include Boston Pilgrim Hospital.

The number of COVID cases in Greater Lincolnshire this week stands at 4,075, but this is likely to increase over the next couple of days.

Last Friday the number of cases in Greater Lincolnshire stood at 3,578, which means the number of news cases has increased by 12.2%.

There have been 12 deaths of Lincolnshire residents according to Government data.

We visited a number of supermarkets in the Greater Lincolnshire area including Grimsby, Skegness, and Boston, and we were surprised how few people were wearing face masks.

It seems most people are no longer taking precautions, even though COVID cases in Lincolnshire continue to rise. When we spoke to people why they were not wearing face masks, they responded by saying Boris Johnson said they were no longer needed.

Since Wednesday’s figures, the latest COVID stats for Lincolnshire are:

 

    1,599 new cases of coronavirus in Greater Lincolnshire with 1,235 in Lincolnshire, 159 in North East Lincolnshire and 205 in North Lincolnshire

    Five further deaths were recorded in the government figures including three Lincolnshire, one North East Lincolnshire and one North Lincolnshire residents

    Hospital data showed two further deaths with one at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust and one at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals Trust

    44 at Lincolnshire Community Health Service hospitals (no change)
