The expansion of Newquay Airport is making travel to the South West quicker, easier and more attractive than ever

The expansion of Newquay Airport (the UK’s fastest growing airport!) is making travel to the South West quicker, easier and more attractive than ever!

Cornwall’s calling! In just a few hours, city folk can now transition from having shiny brogues stuffed under a central London desk, to walking barefoot along a golden beach with the promise of a log fire and sumptuous bed in a Unique Home Stays home-from-home that evening.

With travel time from Gatwick to Newquay Airport just 65 minutes, staycationers can take the scheduled 8:10pm flight and land in Newquay at 9:15pm, leaving time to catch the sunset in summer! There’s car hire right outside for convenience too.

Want a quirky place to stay?

Within fifteen minutes’ drive from Newquay airport, you could be holidaying at Butterfield House; a stunning Grade-II listed self-catering rectory with outdoor heated pool within six private acres. Or, couples might like to romance a weekend away at the iconic Sweetpea Cottage, with a courtyard reminiscent of a Chelsea roof garden (but worlds away from the hustle and bustle)!

Marketing Manager Francesca Reed describes why Unique Home Stays is appealing to commuters for their weekend staycation:

The majority of guests holidaying in our Cornish homestays reside in London and The Home Counties and we only expect this to rise given the airport’s expansion. We do all we can to encourage guests to shop locally and are excited about the impact this will have on the Cornish economy. Last year our 78 homes in Cornwall welcomed almost 9000 guests, and with some already achieving up to 100% occupancy, it’s a fantastic way to ensure Cornwall’s beautiful second homes are lived in and loved all year round.

Forget the never ending office battles to find the perfect lighting and temperatures, be in charge in a working-from-home-homestay!  A 10-minute drive from Newquay Airport awaits Firefly, a rough-luxe woodcutter’s cabin that may look rustic, but is packed with mod cons such as SONOS sound and Wi-Fi throughout for a unique working-in-the-wild experience!

Expecting a surge of wanderlusting, city dwelling visitors, Unique Home Stays is in the midst of expansion and have taken on a Cornish graduate to co-ordinate the company’s corporate bookings.

New Business Development Executive Hattie Frisby says:

“Cornwall is more accessible than ever and provides the ultimate stress-free escape, there’s no passport or currency exchange required and within 65 minutes, London commuters can find themselves in an inspiring location for a productive day of business.”
