Popular EasyJet low cost airline come to the rescue and help Malev stranded passengers. Hundreds of holidaymakers have been stranded after Malev airline grounded their flights after going into administration. The airline ended 66 years of service after the Hungarian government withdraw their financial support meaning the airline could not carry on operating.
The good news I EasyJet have come to the rescue and are offering a rescue package to the passengers who were due to fly with the airline for a fee of 60 euros.
EasyJet have said the people who have been stranded by the collapse of the airline can contact EasyJet and ask about the rescue package.
The Hungarian government recently withdrew financial support for Malev, following a ruling by the European Commission, and the airline had been ordered to repay nearly £250 million in state aid received between 2007 and 2010.
Malev was placed under extraordinary protection from creditors earlier this week, where suppliers had been demanding advance payments.
This may not be the end of the airline after Viktor Orban, the Hungarian prime minister, said that consideration would be given to restarting the airline once its debts had been cleared.
