
More people are travelling to Los Angeles thanks to the many cheap flight airlines. Los Angeles is celebrating today after they have announced a record-breaking year for tourism in 2011. The American city has been featured in many blockbuster films and now it seems tourist want to visit Los Angeles and their chosen vacation.
It is not just British holidaymakers who are visiting Los Angeles; they have visitors from all over the world who want to experience the magical world o the city that never sleeps.
In 2011 more than 26 million holidaymakers travelled to Los Angeles, which was an increase of 4.2 per cent, compared to the number of visitors in 2010.
The increase in the number of visitors and holidaymakers has also helped increase the spending in the city where holidaymakers visiting Los Angeles spent $15.2 billion, which is an increase of 8 per cent compared to 2010.
“This year’s impressive growth in tourism is great news for our local businesses that rely on tourist spending to make their companies both successful and profitable,” said Mark Liberman, president of the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“The increase was experienced in all areas of our city as indicated by increased occupancy at hotels and attendance at restaurants, attractions and cultural institutions.”
The large number of advertising campaigns as well as the large number of cheap flights that are now available to Los Angeles has helped increase the number of people wishing to visit the magical city.
Before cheap flight airlines and low cost airlines it was hard for the average families to visit Los Angeles but now with the increase in cheap flights that are available, the city has become more affordable as a yearly holiday.
Los Angeles are trying to generate tourism from all over the world where in 2006, Los Angeles was the first American city to open a tourism office in Beijing which shows how serious they are in increasing the number of visitors who visit their wonderful city.
