One reason why IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME is often not that easy to pin point the cause for is that the symptoms can vary highly from person to person and so can the cause. IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME covers a whole range of symptoms from constipation to diarrhea, bloated to cramps, loss of appetite to increased appetite, stress, frustration, anger, nerves to name just a few...then you also have the fact that every individual persons experience of these symptoms is then unique to them and how they then express this across to their doctor will be too – therefore often not making this the easiest condition to treat.
 
So what is causing IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME, stress appears to be a huge factor in this, while peoples symptoms will be different for each individual, there does seem to be some commonalities across people too, stress being one of them.... so why are so many people stressed these days and why does this then have a person develop IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME?
 
Stress again is a term that covers may different symptoms and I think for most people they will say stress is when they suddenly are not themselves, are not able to cope and feeling restless. Sleep and appetitive is effected and the triggers that cause stress are work, relationships, not enough water, under pressure, life style, not eating properly and so on and it is slightly concerning that this is something that children and teenagers are experiencing, are we moving too fast these days?
 
Are we putting too much pressure on the younger generation at a time when all they should be experiencing is good times...are we expecting children and teenagers to cope with the mental challenges and day to day challenges that can come with being an adult? Is it really worth getting so stressed when it impacts on someone's health?
 
We all know that its not and that still doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen. So what can people do about Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
 
It is firstly very important to speak to your GP and get a correct diagnosis, they can then advise you of the most appropriate course of treatment.
