Denise Welch who has thanked her fans for their support contacted police after receiving the abuse online where one twitter user called the 53 year old actress "disgusting w***e". She responded on Twitter by saying: "How proud your parents must be of you... Please stop being horrible to people you don't know. You'll be much happier... By the way, my work has reported you to the police and they've traced you. Have a good day."
Fans of the actress were shocked at the Twitter user for his abuse and sent her support messages.
Denise Welch told fans on twitter that she would not be brought down by the behaviour of others.
She told the Mirror: "It's a shame that just a few horrible and evil faceless tweeters write such vile things, I'm made of stern stuff so I will be fine."
Fans of the Loose Women presenter have said how brave she was for setting the record straight and former Loose Women co-star Coleen Nolan has said her friend made a brave decision to talk about her marriage break up.
