Showbiz Gossip. Our hats go off to Loose Women star Denise Welch today after she bravely announced on the afternoon show that she had split from her husband actor Tim Healy.

Early that morning the This Morning Show revealed that Denise Welch was going to reveal some big news on the show but viewers could never imagine that the big news would be the end of her 23 year marriage to Tim Healy. 'Denise Welch Comes Clean Over Marriage' |
The couple who have two children agreed to separate some time ago after spending 23 happy years together and Denise Welch wanted to make it clear she was not having an affair because the marriage was already over.
Denise struggling to control her tears told viewers that her family knew about the split and were right behind her and Tim. She explained that she still loved her husband but they had both come to the end of their marriage but would continue to bring up their children.
She told viewers: “My family made a decision that we would talk about this today. “
"Tim and I separated some time ago and so I'm not having an affair; we've been living our own lives for some time now.
"But the press furore after I came out of Celebrity Big Brother naively took us by storm.
"There's been nothing in the papers that my family didn't know about. And I just wanted to say today to thank everybody for their support."
It is thought Denise decided to bring the news out in the open after being followed by the media following news of an affair.
She continued to say: "We've actually become better friends since we made the decision but we wanted to have Christmas with the family without telling anybody.
"I left the house last night to come to London with great hugs from Tim, great hugs from the boys,"
"Tim and I are still going to be good parents, we love each other very much and we just don't want to lie anymore.
"The kids love us very much and they wanted me to do this today because if you do it via a newspaper or magazine they can use the wrong headlines and put it into the words that they want. They're sick of me being annihilated for something.
"I'm not having an affair. I'm officially separated, but we did love each other very much."
The Loose Women presenter has shown great courage to come clean on the show and hopefully now she and Tim will be able to move forward without any intrusion.
