X Factor Singer Cher Lloyd wants serious action to be taken over online bullying. Ok Cher Lloyd needs to get back in the limelight and needs much needed publicity for her music career but stop the dramatics, please! The singer who is trying to make sure that she is not another here today and gone tomorrow X Factor pop star has said she is lucky to be alive. Now if that is not dramatic then I do not know what is, but one thing is for sure, the young pop singer knows how to grab the media’s attention.
Cher Lloyd who hopes to make it big in America has explained that cyber bullies made her time on the X Factor show an unpleasant time and still to this day she cannot understand why the bullies were out to get her.
The younger singer said that she was misunderstood during her time in the X Factor and tried to put on a hard front to stop the bulling on Twitter and Facebook.
'Cher Lloyd Wants Online Bullying To Stop'
She told the Sun: "It's a miracle I'm still alive - I've been driven to hell and back. The worst thing I've suffered was when I received a death threat against my mum. It was her birthday and she was destroyed. She was a total wreck. I was so angry - say what you want about me, but don't upset her,"
"I think these people need help. To do that to someone, there's got to be something wrong with you. It sounds strange but I feel sorry for them. Maybe they've got a troublesome life, to feel the need to pick into other people's.
"When I was on The X Factor, because of my insecurities, I put on a front and I was this big, hard, cocky wannabe. But I'm nothing like that in real life. I'm quite scared of what people say about me or do to me."
Although we are not huge fans of Cher Lloyd we do agree that more has to be done to stop bullying on social networks. For to long now the social networks have not been policed and it should be the responsibility of the social networks to organise proper supervision to make sure bullying does not take place. We have said for a long time now that governments from around the world should be speaking to the social networks and putting pressure on them to sort their house out.
Cher Lloyd said that it is hard to ignore the bullying and even though people tell her that she should just take it with a pinch of salt, she explained it really upsets her.
She continued: "It really frustrates me when people say, 'Just ignore it'. How am I meant to ignore it? I'm a teenage girl. I didn't want to talk to anyone; I wanted people to leave me alone. I put on this hard person. And it meant I came across so badly. I'm gutted about it."
The X Factor singer is now campaigning against Internet bullying and has joined the BBC with their One’s Panorama programme called Hunting The Online Bullies, which airs on Monday 6th February at 8.30pm.
Hopefully with Cher Lloyd speaking up about her bullying it will bring other more popular celebrities to come forward and help with the battle of online bullying.
