Celebrity Gossip. Demi Lovato worried her fans when she checked herself into rehab with her fans and the media wondering why the children’s star vanished off the face of the earth. But now with the 19 year old singer and actress admitted her disappearing act in November was down to treatment for an eating disorder and self-harming, she has come out and publicly thanked her mum for being her anchor and making her feel positive about the future.

She said: “My mother is everything to me. She’s my anchor; she’s the person I go to when I need to talk to someone. She is an amazing woman. I got through it with the support of people like my mother. 'Demi Lovato Mum Is Her Rock' |
“You can only make it when you feel that you are loved, no matter what, when you feel that you will get another chance. I am grateful and I am ready to make this year a much better year. I feel great.”
Demi Lovato said she now understands how important a good support system is in life.
She explained to the Daily Record newspaper: “It’s very important that you have a good support system, no matter what you do in life. And just because one friend says jump, it doesn’t mean you need to jump as well.
“Be careful of not being led in the wrong direction. And make sure you pick your friends wisely. You don’t want to hang out with the wrong crowd.”
