Barcelona is a wonderful place which is near enough to the UK to hop on a plane for the weekend but when it comes to hotels, it can be hit or miss and unfortunately the Market Hotel which is a great stay if you want something cheap and cheerful is not a hotel that we would really want to return to.
The Barcelona hotel is named after the nearby Sant Antoni market and although this hotel was not one of our favourites, if you want a good deal then this is the hotel that can offer you accommodation that will not break the bank.

The hotel is not for someone who wants a quiet stay as the street noise could keep you awake but if you are lucky enough to stay at the quieter part of the Barcelona Market Hotel which is at the top of the hotel then you should find it quieter.
The location of the Market Hotel is down an alley so be careful that you do not miss the hotel if you have booked it as it can be a bit hard to find and you may need to ask someone for directions as you will most likely find that you have walked past it a couple of times.
One of the good points about the hotel is the airport bus stop is nearby, so if you have come by plane then you can simply jump on the bus to get back to the airport.
The bedrooms are what I would call to your own taste. We are not saying that the hotel rooms are bad but they are decorated to a marmite taste, you either like them or hate them.
The restaurant offers food at low prices which is another good thing about the hotel but the service again can be hit and miss, it all depends who is serving you on the day.
If you are on a budget then the Barcelona Market Hotel could be worth a visit but as mentioned Barcelona has some great hotels and it all depends what you are looking for. If you are looking for a top end hotel then the Market Hotel in Barcelona is not for you but if you are on a budget and looking for a budget hotel then this will fit in with you nicely.
