EasyJet To Continue Gatwick To Jersey Flights

A spokesperson for EasyJet have confirmed that they will continue their route from Gatwick Airport To Jersey when Flybe pulls out of Gatwick next Spring.

Regular passengers who fly from Gatwick Airport to Jersey were concerned when the news broke that Flybe were calling a day on the route, passengers feared that EasyJet would also announce that they would no longer offer the route, but according to a spokesman for EasyJet the route will not be pulled.

EasyJet who are buying Flybe’s 25 Gatwick take off and landing slots have however said they will not be flying as often as Flybe does. The cheap flights airline said they will be offering a year round service to and from Jersey but will only operate three flights a day compared to Flybe who offered four flights a day.

The cheap flights airline already offer flights to Jersey from Southend, Liverpool, Glasgow and Newcastle and believe the route is an important route for their airline as well as for their passengers.

The airline’s group commercial director Cath Lynn said: “We are pleased to confirm the introduction of easyJet’s new flights between London Gatwick and Jersey from spring 2014, which underlines our continued commitment to serving the destinations that our customers tell us that they want to fly to on our easy and affordable services.

“The new early flight which departs Gatwick at 7am will allow business travellers to reach Jersey in time for a full day of meetings while the evening departure enables them to fly home on the same day and offers travellers from Jersey a full day in the capital and evening flights back.

“The introduction of low cost seats will also help to boost tourism to the island with the daily flights giving maximum flexibility for those visiting Jersey on short or long breaks.”

Where other airlines have been struggling, EasyJet seem to be going from strength to strength.
