Comedian Don Friesen Looks at the Humorous Side of Parenting and Politics

Don Friesen’s hilarious new video “Forrest Trump” satirizes Donald Trump as a political megalomaniac unaware of his own hubris.

Hollywood, CA – Ask any voter about the state of politics today and chances are you will get a response along the lines of “laughable.”  That’s where Don Friesen comes in.  His uproarious impression of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has been a big hit in his comedy club and theater shows, so now he has released it online.  The video clip titled “Forrest Trump, is a cleverly comical spoof of the blind arrogance of the 2016 candidate for President of the United States as he devolves quite literally into Forrest Gump.

Friesen, a self-deprecating comedian who normally shies away from politics onstage, has been known to make notable exceptions when political characters become “just too good to resist.”  Cue the 2016 presidential campaign: “There’s no shortage of characters in this year’s election,” says Friesen, who has released his spoof of The Donald’s foreign policy stance as a companion piece with his lampoon of Bernie Sanders.

Friesen is the only two-time winner in the 40-year history of the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition.  He has appeared on Showtime, Live at Gotham, Lewis Black and Comics Unleashed.  He is also featured regularly on several national radio programs.

Although the hilarious “Forrest Trump” video has attracted a rash of new Don Friesen fans, the award-winning comedian is actually best known for his take on family and parenting.  Friesen lights up the stage with a highly-caffeinated spoof of his existence as modern-day dad, just trying to get through the day with a few bucks in the bank and a shred of dignity intact.  Employing a variety of characters, voices, and impressions , Friesen creates highly-memorable bits on tech support, forgotten passwords, health insurance, and an unforgettable parody of modern English.

Despite the fact that his routine is clean and family friendly, the funny man is known for being sharp, relevant, clever and flat out fun to watch.  The Seattle Post-Intelligencer calls Friesen “offbeat, satirical, self-deprecating and slightly out of control.”

Don Friesen’s hourlong Showtime comedy special “Ask Your Mom” is currently streaming on Netflix, and he is touring the country with a set of live shows.  Upcoming appearances are scheduled in the following locations:
