Spanish Street Party @ Camino :: From 5pm Saturday 28th June
Imagine enjoying an afternoon in Spain filled with sunshine, sangria, tapas and live music! No need to travel to Spain - you can enjoy this just 5 minutes from King’s Cross station at Camino - the Observer ‘Best Bar In Britain’ on Saturday afternoons at their Fiestas En La Calle. These street Fiestas are held in the courtyard, sponsored by Cruzcampo and organised to spread some Latino love across London throughout the spring and summer.

This Hispanic hideaway is found by taking a quiet alley off the bustling Caledonian or Pentonville roads of King’s Cross. The allies take you into the courtyard which is enclaved by very high walls of surrounding buildings - the commotion of King’s Cross absolutely disappears and you are simply left with a clear sky.

The courtyard is decorated with iron sculptures and scattered with upturned barrels for tables that hold jugs of sangria, fino and Cruzcampo next to plates of jamon, chunks of tortilla and chorizo. The live music is performed alfresco and has previously featured vibrant Latino sounds from Brazillian guitarists and Cuban singers.

For the third Fiesta En La Calle as Camino proudly presents the gypsy beatnik group Peyoti For President. The all male band is comprised of some of the most innovative and diverse world musicians playing with melody, rhythm, spirit and attitude - a 21st century punk with purpose. They fuse euphoric melodies with elements of Flamenco, Rumba & Samba and are a lively fusion of guitar beats, percussion and vocals.

Do not miss the band in this intimate and informal and gig following the massive success of their support slot on various Manu Chao tour dates last year playing to crowds of over 5000. With the imminent release of their debut album ‘Rising Tide Of Conformity’ Peyoti For President launch into summer 2008 with vigour.

Continuing the Fiesta the band will be followed by tunes from the Movimiento DJs in the bar area for a proper dance-floor shakedown Latin style! The DJ duo bring the freshest Latin alternative and cutting edge dance-floor beats and have been revitalising the London club and live music scene with regular doses of their Latin culture.

Camino also hosts live Spanish, Gypsy and Latin music every Sunday afternoon and serves brunch, paella and a special children’s menu. DJs drawn from the big pool of Cargo, Market Place & Big Chill musical talent spin with a Latin edge every Thursday, Friday and Saturday to 1am with free entrance and late night tapas. Upcoming artists include: Quantic, Heala Selecta, Michael Cook, Richard E, Nelson Dilation, Hugo Mendez, DJ Molu, Shep Dog. More information available at www.camino.uk.com
