Ruth Jones Lands Radio Wales Show |
|
Gavin and Stacey star Ruth Jones is set to present her own show on BBC Radio Wales this autumn.
The new 12-week show, Ruth Jones' Sunday Brunch, is the first
commission for Ruth's Cardiff-based production company Sutherland
Productions, which will produce the show.
The BAFTA-award winning actress and writer – best known as Nessa in the
BBC hit show Gavin and Stacey which she co-created with James Corden –
will host her own two-hour programme on Sunday mornings from 10am till
midday.
Ruth said: "I'm really looking forward to it. It'll be like having friends over the house for brunch.
"We'll go through the papers, have a coffee, maybe a bacon bap or two
and a nice chat, y'know, just relaxed and easy, easy like Sunday
morning.”
Radio Wales Editor Sali Collins said: "We're thrilled that Ruth has chosen to make her radio debut on BBC Radio Wales.
"Ruth is one of British comedy's brightest stars and she's Welsh to the
core, so her collaboration with Radio Wales is a perfect fit.
"With a three-month stint on Sunday mornings, fans will be able to get
a weekly fix of Ruth's wit and warm personality on Radio Wales."
Ruth Jones' Sunday Brunch starts on Sunday October 5 at 10am.
