Notes to Editors:
LYC (Lyric Young Company) is West London’s only open access theatre company that aims to integrate young people from different backgrounds and unite them with a shared passion for the arts. At a time when young people are receiving bad press, particularly in London related to gang involvement, LYC works to break down geographical, social and economic barriers amongst those most affected by the negative consequences. Activities run all year round and cover anything from DJing, graffiti art, street dance and spoken word to insider tips into cracking the industry. Most importantly we provide LYC members with the chance to gain a recognised qualification through their involvement. The Lyric is committed to unlocking young people’s potential through the various opportunities provided by LYC.

Martha Ellis-Leach is 17 and has lived in Hammersmith all her life. Martha goes to the local Godolphin and Latymer School and is an aspiring actress who has developed her performance skills at the Lyric Hammersmith and other theatres. She would like to support the LYC’s activities in the best way she could and so has been integral to booking acts at LaLaLyric – including her sister!
