Airport Hotels need to get their act together says Magazine

Cheap airport hotels with holiday extras find cheap airport hotels

As a journalist I have to go on a number of holidays to review resorts and hotels, great job I hear you say, but after a while it can be a lonely affair, so now I always make sure I take my family with me, not only to keep me company but also to give me their views as sometimes I can be a bit harsh.

I always use Manchester Airport when flying abroad as it gives me a greater option on Flight times and destinations but on the down side, it is a two hour drive which does not help when you are catching an early flight. With the long journey to the Airport I always feel tired and grumpy and end up giving the passengers on the plane an X Factor performance of my exclusive orchestra, other words I snore like a pig which does not go down to well with the other passengers and the Air Hostess who accidentally on purpose nudges me as they are walking past trying to give the other passengers a quiet journey.

So this year, after receiving a large number of letters regarding the problems families with two adults and two children have finding cost effective airport accommodation in Manchester and the quiet lengthy word from my wife about my embarrassing snoring, I decided to take on a challenge of finding Manchester Airport hotels that offer cost effective accommodation for a normal family of four.

How hard could it be to find a hotel that offers accommodation for a normal family of four within a good price bracket, after all Manchester had loads of hotels and this was the day of the internet, so this was going to be a very easy challenge, and I am always up for a challenge as along as it has nothing to do with heights. Finding an airport hotel to accommodate four people, easy I thought how wrong could I have been.

After three hours of searching the Internet I understood this was not going to be an easy Mission. I tried a large number of these so called expert hotel booking websites that promises to find you cheap hotels, that was the first joke. Cheap Hotel Prices they advertise, well lets just say, have they ever heard of the credit crunch and please do define the word cheap I thought as nearly fell off my chair with some of the prices that they were coming up with. Most of these hotels booking websites were not user friendly and others did not make it easy to find hotels that would allow two adults and two children to stay.

I sat at my computer feeling older than my 21-year-old body with a 31-year-old face although my passport wrongly says I am 39 years old, wondering why it is so hard to find an airport hotel for a normal family of two adults and two children. A lot of the hotels that I came across did not accommodate for the normal family, and now I was starting to understand the problems all these people who had written into in2town had faced.

Manchester was a huge place, there were loads of hotels in Manchester, and all I wanted to do was to find a Manchester Airport hotel within my price range that would allow me to stay with my family the night before we travelled so I could feel refreshed and give my fellow passenger a quiet journey.

My mission was failing, it was turning into mission impossible five and I was no Tom Cruise, if he was here he would have jumped off buildings, ran two miles through shooting bullets and large explosions to find a family Manchester airport hotel with a cost effective price, but as I said my passport wrongly says I am 39 and the scales at home are broke telling me that I am 19 stone, so I was not going to do any running through bullets, and I certainly was not going to jump off buildings to try and find a hotel to stay in to help me feel refreshed before our flight.

When I was on the verge of giving up, I was told to try a website called Holiday Extras, I have to admit that I had never heard of them and as you can imagine I felt like this was just another un friendly over priced hotel booking system which would not find me a hotel for two adults and two children but I was wrong. The Holiday Extras hotel booking website was different; it looked fresh with full of information and was very user friendly, but would it past the test.

I entered my details, two adults and two children, expecting it to come back saying that they could not find a Manchester Airport hotel that offers accommodation for me, but I was wrong, it brought up a number of Manchester Airport hotels that would offer me the accommodation that I needed. This was fantastic, but then the news got better, the price of the accommodation was within my price range. In-fact, the price that they were offering would allow me if I wanted to, to stay in the hotel for an extra night compared to the prices of other hotel booking systems that could not even accommodate me and instead were offering me prices for two adults and one child that were more expensive than the prices I was being quoted by Holiday Extras for two adults and two children.

What I was not expecting was for Holiday Extras to solve my problem of offering me Manchester Airport Car Parking Facilities at such a low price. For years I had been using an Airport Car Parking Facility in Altrincham but at my amazement Holiday Extras would easily save me money but here is a tip for you, book your hotel together with airport parking because you will save even more money.

Holiday Extras had become my saviour. Holiday Extras allowed me to find a Manchester Airport hotel that would accommodate a normal family at a price I could well afford and it also allowed me to find a Manchester Airport parking facility all at a price that was jointly cheaper than other hotel booking websites that were offering me a hotel for three people.

If you are travelling to Manchester Airport and want to stay in a hotel the night before your travel and be given Manchester Airport Parking at a very cost effective price, then there is only one website you should visit and that is Holiday Extras. They should be your first choice if you want Quality, Cost Effective Manchester Airport Hotels and Manchester Airport Parking Facilities.

My research showed me that Hotels and especially Airport Hotels need to get their act together. It should not take a long time to find accommodation for a normal family of four to stay in and hotels out their need to sort themselves out and understand how much business they are losing and how inconvenient families are finding it, having to spend a great deal of time to try and find a hotel so the family can all stay together.
