Gabriella Cilmi Announces UK Tour

On 18th August 2008, GABRIELLA CILMI releases a brand new single, ‘Save The Lies (Good To Me)’. Where her current Top 10 hit single ‘Sweet About Me’ caught Gabriella’s subtle, smokey blues-inflections, ‘Save The Lies (Good To Me)’ shoots from the hip, showcasing a rock roar of a voice.

“On an album positively reeling with preternatural confidence and youthful enthusiasm, she can certainly inhabit a song at full throaty throttle, and everything here pushes pop’s smartest buttons.” Q MAGAZINE

Gabriella’s debut single ‘Sweet About Me’ is proving a fixture in the UK Singles Chart Top 10, currently on it’s sixth week there and looks set to rise again next week, it is on it’s way to being one of the biggest selling singles of the year, and has featured on the A-lists of Radio 1, Radio 2, Virgin, Capital and Kiss. Her debut is currently breaking through Europe, it is at No.11 on the European Airplay Chart, and upfront of a physical release it is at No.2 at iTunes Germany, No.3 at iTunes Portugal and No.4 at iTunes Switzerland. Gabriella is performing a round of European Festivals and showcases throughout the summer to support the launch of ‘Sweet About Me’.

New single ‘Save The Lies (Good To Me)’ is also taken from her Top 10, 150,000+ selling debut album ‘Lessons To Be Learned’, with the two lead singles an example of the full diversity that the 16 year old, Led Zeppelin-obsessed, Australian/Italian singer-songwriter can offer. Produced by the UK’s premiere hitmakers, Xenomania, the album is destined to be a contender for pop album of the year. With mixes on ‘Save The Lies (Good To Me)’ coming from Robbie Rivera, Kinky Roland, Mason and Out Of Office, the single is currently No.5 in the Upfront Club Chart and No.4 on the Commerical Pop Club Chart.

Just prior to single release Gabriella performs at the V Festival at Weston Park Staffordshire on Saturday 16th August and Hyland Park Chelmsford on Sunday 17th August on the JJB Champion Arena Stage. V rounds off a busy Festival season for Gabriella, who also performed at Glastonbury and the iTunes Festival recently, at T In The Park on Saturday 12th July and at the Beautiful Days Festival on 15th – 17th August.
