GMTV Should Kate Garraway be Axed

Do you fKate Garrayway favourite to be axed from gmtveel Kate Garraway should be axed by GMTV? Since the shocking news that GMTV are going to axe two high profile presenters, Kate Garraway became the likely target with her high wages and failed attempts to secure a permanent slot on the GMTV sofa but who would you like to see leave GMTV.

Since the shocking news was released presenters on GMTV have become nervous about their jobs and with each new day that comes towards their new contracts being discussed, the presenters are wondering if they will have it renewed and which two will be axed in the cost cutting drive which sources on GMTV have said “It has created an unea
sy atmosphere on the show with the presenters worried about their future.”

Kate Garraway, Andrew Castle, Ben Shephard, Penny Smith, John Stapleton and Emma Crosby, are paid between £160,000 and £220,000 a year, are all anxious about their jobs and with two less presenters w
ould allow GMTV to save money but it is not just the presenters who are worried about their jobs, backroom staff on the show are also worried about the cost cutting exercise.

GMTV are looking at restructuring the early morning programme to cut cost and to increase viewing figures which have reduced over the past 12 months meaning less advertising revenue and less budget to make the programme.

If we are going to be honest, GMTV went down hill as soon as Eamonn Holmes left the show and then went even further down hill when Fiona Phillips left, so are GMTV wasting their time trying to restructure, should they just not call it a day and find a new programme to replace it, lets face it, The Big Breakfast new when it was time up so maybe GMTV should do the same.

GMTV has become very boring, the lack of humour on the show followed by presenters looking stiff instead of gelling like Fiona Phillips and Eamonn Holmes did has left the show more painful to watch than something to enjoy. And this is not to mention when they repeat stories and when they have what they would call high profile singers on the show, they have to go and repeat the song twice. Is this lack of leadership by the producers of the show, or are they just trying to fill up time because they are too lazy to go out there and find interesting stories.

The GMTV bosses have said a man and a woman should go, but hey, forget a man and a woman being axed, how about just two of the female presenters with the first one being Fiona Phillips replacement who looks very much out of place on the sofa and looks more like a cardboard cut out than someone who is part of the team.

Although Kate Garraway is the favourite to leave, Kate Garraway should be the one staying put as she is what GMTV is all about, and god knows how they overlooked her to replace Fiona Phillips, this only shows tha
t the producers of the show do not have a clue what the viewers want.

ITV GMTV Kate Garraway has become the favourite to be axed by GMTV after GMTV bosses want to axe two high profile presenters which could include Kate Garraway and at least one other presenter on the morning show to save money.

Presenters at GMTV are worried for 2010 after ITV are rumoured to be looking to axe two High profile presenters in a move to cut cost to make GMTV more profitable with one of the favourites for the axe being Kate Garraway who is a firm favourite with viewers.

Andrew Castle, 46, John Stapleton, 63, Kate Garraway, 42, Ben Shephard, 35, and Penny Smith, 51, are said to be “anxious beyond belief” hoping that the rumours are not true and their jobs are safe but In2town Lifestyle magazine can report that bosses at ITV have been looking for some time in ways to reduce cost for their morning show.

The only name that has not been entered into the hat for the axe is Emma Crosby, 32, who since Fiona Phillips left the show has become the most popular member with the viewers.
