Fujifilm FinePix S8100fd
ImageThis is an outstanding camera where you get a lot for your money. You only have to look at the 18x zoom lens that is great for getting close up to the action for weddings and sprting events, to know that you have got a great piece of incredible kit.

Fuji really thought about the design when they made this camera, although I would have liked to have seen it a bit more light weight and maybe a little less chunky, but overall the design is very good.

I think the most disapointing feature on this camera is the electronic viewfinder. This seems to be a problem with most camera but I was hoping that Fuji would have sorted this problem out and made the viewfinder a lot less grainy, surely how hard would it be to give you a perfect picture.

The pop-up flash is activated by a button at the side of the flash unit which is the perfect place to have it so again a lot of thinking in the design of the camera.

Another feature found on the S8000 is the supermacro facility allowing a minimum focus of just 1cm, while normal macro offers focusing down to 10cm at the wide end and 1.2m at the telephoto end.
Like other recent Fujifilm cameras the S8100 has a dual shot mode which takes two pictures in quick succession, one with and one without flash, allowing you to choose the best according to the ambient lighting. It also features Fujifilm's Intelligent flash system, which detects the contrast and lighting levels in a scene and according to Fuji, adjusts the flash output accordingly. The flash is also automatically set to operate at a higher ISO so, the theory goes, less flash power is used and images appear more natural.

Overal the camera is a hit with the perfect price tag to match it.
