Now
in its 4th glorious year, the official UK Air Guitar Championships 2009
will be held on Friday 7 August at the 02 Academy Islington.
Air Guitar UK are once again pulling out all the stops to produce a jaw
dropping spectacular and are calling guitar gods of all ages to
surrender their souls. With the winner sent on a prize ticket to
represent the nation in the 14th Air Guitar World Championships in
Finland on 19-21 August 2009, the stakes are once again sky high.
The judging panel will include twice UK Air Guitar Championship winner
Gabi Matzeu AKA The Hoxton Creeper and twice WORLD CHAMPION, Zac Monro,
the finest UK exponent of Air Guitar to have graced the world stage and
a passionate defender of the artform.
Speaking today from his practice studio, the former champ and now
organiser of the UK Air Guitar Championships, Zac Monro, expressed his
hopes for this year’s contestants; “In these times of crumbling morals
we are thrilled to confirm the dates for the Air Guitar World
Championships UK Final - pure, unadulterated entertainment - and
details of this year’s prize. Crowned the UK Air Guitar Champion, the
Winner of the Championship will be flown out to Finland to represent
the UK, will be put-up in the official Air Guitar World Champion Hotel,
will hang out with the other Rockstars in the pool & sauna, be

festival, will be adored by many, will perform in front of thousands,

The stigmatised, yet highly intoxicating and skilful, artform which

globe bringing the total number of competing countries to 21 in the
2008 Air Offs with Kenya, Russia, South Africa and Estonia recently
entering the fray.
