POLLOCKS LONDON CELEBRATES CREATIVITY IN THE CAPITAL AT
BLANK CANVAS, 27 JUNE- 6 JULY 2008

Carnaby Street Exhibition to Feature Leading and Emerging Artists, including
Mark Quinn, Annie Lennox, Levi Palmer and Rankin
FREE ENTRY, 1-2 Carnaby Street (11AM – 7.30PM daily)

Young creatives across the UK are invited to enter their work via the Pollocks London website (www.pollockslondon.com). The selected works will be featured alongside those of sculptor Mark Quinn, singer Annie Lennox, fashion designer Levi Palmer and photographer Rankin, who have contributed original artwork in support of the exhibition.

“Blank Canvas is the product of young Londoners’ hard work, determination and creative spirit”, explains Josef Valentino, founder of Pollocks London. “The space on legendary Carnaby Street provides a blank canvas for a collage of stunning work”.

All art work is available to buy from the exhibition with 10p of every £1.00 per sale donated to Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity registered in England (Charity No. 299758) and a company limited by guarantee (Company No. 05074725).

Alongside the 25 selected works, the exhibition will feature contributions from the celebrity guests who attend the launch event, including:

Life drawing with six models rotating throughout the evening. All models will be decorated by an up-and-coming artist, capturing guests’ imaginations and inspiring them to draw. All sketches drawn by celebrity guests at the launch will then be included in the exhibition.

A collaborative blank canvas on which guests will be able to make their mark throughout the night—breaking the pretence of traditional archaic exhibitions.

Blank Canvas will also feature nightly open mic sessions throughout the week, encouraging new musicians and poets to attend. There will also be daily performances at 6.30pm from the likes of beatboxers Beat Poetry and DJ sets from Flash Louis.
