If you are a living human being, chances are you have had acne
at one or more times in your life. Acne, in a nutshell, is a condition
of the skin that affects the hair and oil secretions. Acne shows in the
form of pimples,
blackheads, whiteheads, redness, and sometimes cysts. When you have
acne on your body, especially on your face, it can hinder your
appearance and make your become very self conscious about the way you
look to other people.
There are a lot of people who will disregard acne as a problem and
continue to go on with their lives normally. However, it is very
important to take care of your acne as it becomes a problem for you.
This will help control further inflammation from becoming terribly bad
and uncomfortable. Many times, if acne is treated and gotten under
control in its early stages, it can be cleared up easily without
causing further inflammation and making the acne more severe.
To be completely honest, you should be taking good care of your skin before you see the first signs of acne. Acne treatment
should be a proactive effort, not a reactive effort. If you develop and
maintain a daily skin care plan and stick to it every morning and
night, you will have a better chance of combating acne before it starts
to get bad.
The first and most obvious step to clean, healthy skin is cleanliness.
When showering in the morning, you should make it a priority to clean
your face with a good face wash. It would also be wise to shower in the
evenings after a long day of school or work. You should also practice
showering after any activity that causes you to sweat. Showing is the
first line of defense in your battle with acne. Showering alone will
not prevent or cure your acne problems, but it is a start to something
bigger.
When you wash your face, you should make sure that you are applying a
mild, water soluble, oil free soap for maintaining the proper ph
balance in your face. Cleaning the face on a regular basis is the
single most important step in keeping your face clean and clear of acne.
I know from first hand experience that acne is frustrating! You just
want to squeeze and pick at every pimple on your face. If you have acne
right now, don't touch them at all, this will lead to scaring on your
face. Just gently clean them each day with an over the counter medicine
and pat your face dry with a very soft towel.
Believe it or not, you can and will win the battle over your acne. You
should take some time and go see a dermatologist for further
instruction and more powerful medications if what you are currently doing isn't helping matters at all.
